2009年10月16日，中国海洋摄影协会在北京举行成立仪式。
On October 16, 2009, the China Ocean Photography Association held an inauguration ceremony in Beijing.
成立时得到了国家海洋局有关部门、中国科学技术协会、中国文联、中国摄影家协会、中国海洋学会、中华环保联合会、海军、海洋水族馆企业界以及首都各大新闻媒体的大力支持，著名摄影家王文澜等人出席了成立仪式。
When it was established, it received strong support from relevant departments of the State Oceanic Administration, the Chinese Association for Science and Technology, the Chinese Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the Chinese Photographers Association, the Chinese Ocean Society, the China Environmental Protection Federation, the Navy, the marine aquarium business community and the major news media of the capital Photographer Wang Wenlan and others attended the inauguration ceremony.
2014年1月12日,协会为适应国家建设“海洋强国”战略形势的需要，变更为“中国国际海洋摄影协会”。
On January 12, 2014, the association changed to "China International Ocean Photography Association" in order to meet the needs of the country's strategic situation in building a "marine power".
2017 年 8 月 11 日，协会成功加入国际摄影艺术联合会（FIAP）组织，批准编号为 2193。正式成为国际摄影艺术联合会（FIAP）地方成员组织（ILFIAP），同时加入“丝路国家摄影组织国际联盟”，成为“丝路摄联”成员之一。 On August 11, 2017, the association successfully joined the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP) organization, with the approval number 2193. Formally became a local member organization of the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP) (ILFIAP), and joined the "International Union of Silk Road National Photographic Organizations" and became a member of the "Silk Road Photographic Association".
